
Hilary Burt
Director of SOCO Gallery
Hilary Burt is the Director of SOCO Gallery, a contemporary art space based in Charlotte, North Carolina. SOCO is a member of New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) and regularly participates in international art fairs (Dallas Art Fair, The Armory Show, and NADA Miami). Hilary is a Public Art Commissioner for the City of Charlotte, NC, and a member of the Contemporary Collecting Committee at the Mint Museum.
Before moving to Charlotte, Hilary worked as an Account Director and Strategist in design and branding, both in London, England and New York City. She was a Visiting Associate Professor at the Pratt Institute of Art & Design (New York, NY) and guest lecturer at Fashion Institute of Technology (New York, NY). In 2013 she designed and launched the Arts Leadership & Administration program at Queens University (Charlotte, NC) and was an Adjunct Professor of Art History and Arts Administration. In 2017 she founded “The Sphere Series”, an organization dedicated to bringing global leaders in the arts to Charlotte to engage in thoughtful and relevant discussions on how arts and creativity can spark dialogue and promote social change. Hilary has a BA in Art History from McGill University (Montreal, Canada) and a MPS from the Pratt Institute of Art & Design (New York, NY).
